A Claude skill

Write your copy in the words your buyers actually use.

On your sales page, your opt-in page, anywhere people look at your offer and leave without buying.

Your buyers have been explaining the problem you solve for a while now, in posts, comments, and the feedback they leave. They just use their own words for it, and those aren't the words on your page.

Eavesdropper is a Claude skill that reads what they wrote and counts the words they keep repeating for the problem you solve. Then it checks the top of your page line by line against those words and rewrites your headline the way they'd say it.

One-time, with an instant download that's yours to keep. Needs a paid Claude plan (Pro or above).

Why it isn't selling

Views on your sales page, but no sales?

People find the page, they read some of it, and then nothing. Most of the time it comes back to one thing, which is that the page can't explain the offer the way your buyers would, so they can't see themselves in it.

So you try to fix the traffic. Ads can send more people to a page, but they can't change what those people read when they get there.

Here's what I mean, from my own page. I ran Eavesdropper on my Fingerprint File sales page. I wrote that page, and I couldn't see this until the counts were in front of me.

How it works

You gather what they wrote, and Eavesdropper counts the words they repeat.

1
20 to 30 minutes

Gather what they wrote

Paste it in as is, or let it pull from Gmail, Google Drive, or Notion if you've connected them (read-only). One offer and one page per run.

2
You check

Look over the themes

Install it in Claude and say "Run Eavesdropper." It sorts what you gave it into themes and stops so you can check them before it counts a single word.

3
Your report

Get your report

A Word document with your name on it, with the top of your page checked line by line against their words and what to change first.

Anything your buyers wrote themselves, in their own words.

If they typed it about the problem you solve, it counts. You don't need a lot of polish or a big list.

  • Comments on your posts and videos
  • Replies to your emails
  • DMs and messages
  • Survey and intake answers
  • Notes from sales calls
  • Posts in communities where your buyers hang out

No buyers yet? Use people in your niche. I didn't have buyers yet either when I ran it on my Fingerprint File page, so it read 231 items from 20 places, all from people in my niche talking about the problem. The report labels whose words it read, so you always know how far to trust the counts.

What you get

Your page, line by line, next to their words.

Here's a page from the example report. Dana is made up, and so is her data.

What's inside every report

Nine sections, in this order.

  1. Start here
  2. What was read
  3. How far this reading goes
  4. What your buyers keep saying
  5. Their words, each with a count and where it came from
  6. Your page vs. their wordsThe part you use first
  7. New headline options
  8. What to do with this
  9. What only you can decide

Where it stops

You still decide what goes on the page.

Which words make it onto your page is a decision about your offer, and it needs you. The report gives you what that decision should rest on, with a count and a source for every word, then leaves the choice to you.

What it does
  • Counts the words your buyers repeat for the problem you solve
  • Shows where each one came from
  • Checks the top of your page against their words, line by line
  • Gives you three to five headline options built from their words
  • Tells you what to change first
What it doesn't do
  • Write your whole sales page
  • Look at your competitors' copy
  • Search the web for you
  • Cover more than one offer at a time

Before you buy

What you need to run it.

1

A paid Claude plan (Pro or above)

Reading and counting 150 items is a big job, and it doesn't fit inside the free plan's limit. It runs in a regular Claude chat.

2

One setting turned on

"Code execution and file creation," in Claude's Settings, just below the Artifacts toggles. It's what lets the skill build your Word document.

3

What your buyers wrote

For one offer. Your own buyers if you have them, people in your niche if you don't. Gathering takes 20 to 30 minutes, and the setup guide covers the fast way.

4

Your page

The text from the top of the page you want checked.

For over 25 years I have developed and improved brand messaging for companies from billion-dollar global brands to startups with a product and no story yet. I work from the high-level campaign concept all the way down to the smallest execution detail.

Eavesdropper does the part of that work I used to do by hand, which is reading what people say about their problem until the same words keep showing up, and then counting them so you're not guessing.

Got questions?

Is it only for sales pages?

No. It checks the top of whatever page you point it at, like a landing page, an opt-in page, a shop listing, or a launch email. The words it finds work anywhere you talk about the offer.

I don't have buyers yet. Can I still use it?

Yes. Use people in your niche, like posts and comments in the communities your buyers are in. The report labels whose words it read, so you know how far to trust the counts, and you can run it again once your own buyers start talking.

Do I have to connect Gmail, Google Drive, or Notion?

No. You can paste everything in. If you've connected them, it can pull from them read-only, and only what you point it at.

Can I run it on more than one offer?

One offer and one page per run, so the counts stay about one problem. Run it again for the next one.

Does it write my sales page for me?

No. It gives you the words, the line-by-line check, and headline options. If you want help writing the rest so it sounds like you, that's what the Fingerprint File and Briefing Room do.

What happens to my buyers' names?

Names, email addresses, phone numbers, and handles are swapped for [name], [email], and [phone] in the report. Your own replies in a thread are left out and listed, so only their words get counted. The skill runs in your own Claude account, so nothing they wrote ever comes to me.

What if I only have a handful of items?

It still runs. Under 50 items is labeled a Thin reading, and the report tells you what to gather next to firm it up.

Does it only work in Claude?

The skill runs in Claude. The report is a Word document, so the words and headline options go anywhere you write.

Do I get updates?

Yes. Updates are included, with an email when the skill improves.

Can I buy Briefing Room on its own?

No. Briefing Room builds your brief from your Fingerprint File and Eavesdropper results, so it only comes with them. Get all three in The Unmistakably You Kit, or add Briefing Room when you check out. Already bought one? Your welcome emails include a way to complete the set.

Got a launch coming up? Check your sales page against your buyers first.

I know there are so many pieces already, like the emails, the landing page, the lead magnet, and the posts. Eavesdropper is one chat in the Claude you already use, and the words it finds go into every one of those pieces, so you're not guessing on each one.
