The Fingerprint File · A Claude skill

# Tried everything and your copy still sounds like AI?

You've tried the banned-word lists, the prompts, and the humanizer skills. Your AI still has nothing of yours to match.

This skill reads your everyday writing (the emails and Slack replies nobody edited) and counts what repeats. It finds your rhythm, your word choices, and the phrases you repeat without noticing. Then it hands you examples from your own writing, ready to paste into the AI you write with.

Why your AI still doesn't sound like you

## You trained it on the pages you've edited the most.

Most people teach an AI their voice by feeding it their best published work, like the sales page, the newsletter, and the About page. Then the drafts come back sounding like everyone else in their space.

If you already gave it writing samples and it still slipped back, this is usually why.

Those pages are your most polished writing samples. Every round of edits, approvals, and AI passes sands off a little more of what made them yours, until what's left sounds generic.

**The writing that still sounds like you is the stuff you sent in ninety seconds and never looked at again,** like sent emails, Slack replies, and voice memos. That's what the Fingerprint File reads.

How it works

## Fifteen minutes of gathering. Then it does the counting.

1

### Gather your writing

Pull 30 to 40 pieces you didn't polish into one document, each with a short label like "SENT EMAIL, Sep 2." The setup guide walks you through the fast way to do it.

2

### Run the skill

Install it in Claude, start a chat, and say "Build my fingerprint file." It sorts what you gave it and checks the list with you before it reads a word closely.

3

### Get your file

A Word document with your name on it that counts every pattern and shows examples from your own writing, with where each one came from. Plus 15 to 25 of your passages to paste into your AI.

### Then decide what you keep.

Your brand doesn't have to sound exactly like your inbox. Go through the patterns and mark each one keep, more, less, or drop. Your file adds a training set built from only what you kept. The evidence stays exactly as it was, so you can change your mind on the next run.

### Then run it again, and it gets sharper.

Your file comes with a small profile you keep. Next time, upload it with a fresh batch, like newer emails, a different kind of writing, or a busier month. The new file shows which patterns held, which are new, and which faded, so each round tells you more about what's really yours.

What counts as one piece

A piece is one thing you hit send on, however short.

So 30 to 40 goes faster than it sounds. A few busy Slack threads and a page of sent replies usually get you there. Length doesn't matter, because every send has its own first line and last line, and those are part of what gets counted.

- Sent emails
- Slack and Teams messages
- DMs and texts
- Voice memo transcripts
- Your lines from call transcripts
- Quick notes

| What you have | Counts as |
| --- | --- |
| A Slack thread where you sent 12 messages | 12 pieces |
| An email thread you replied to 3 times | 3 pieces |
| One text, DM, or quick note | 1 piece |
| Your lines from one call | 1 pieceNothing is sent on a call, so the whole call counts once. |
| A published page or newsletter *(optional, for contrast)* | 1 pieceIt went out once. |

What you get

## Every pattern comes with its count and its proof.

Rhythm, punctuation, how you open and close, how you make a point (like backing it up with a specific example or offering a next step), the words you lean on, and how you take a position. Each one shows how often it happened, with examples from your own writing and where they came from. Here are three from the example file.

Mechanics29 of 45 pieces

Parentheses appear in 29 of 45 pieces, almost always holding a self-correction rather than an aside.

`we can ship friday (thursday if the assets land today)`Sent email, Mar 4

`it's a small fix (small for you, probably not small for me)`Sent email, Jun 19

Openings and closings18 of 35 pieces

Eighteen of 35 written pieces end on a sentence under six words. Fourteen of those eighteen are a direct instruction to the reader.

`Just send it.`Sent email, Feb 19

`Pick one and tell me.`Sent email, Apr 11

Lexicon25 of 45 pieces

"Honestly" appears 25 times, and in 22 of those it introduces a disagreement rather than an admission.

`honestly i think the deck is the problem, not the pitch`Voice memo, Mar 20

`Honestly, I'd kill that section.`Sent email, Jun 19

### What's inside every file

Eight sections, in this order.

1. **Start here**What was read and where to go first.
2. **What was read**Your pieces sorted by how polished they are.
3. **How far this reading goes**How much weight the counts can carry.
4. **The patterns**Six dimensions, each counted, with examples.
5. **Your writing samples The part you copy**15 to 25 of your own passages, plus a training set that follows your choices.
6. **How to use it**Where to paste it and how to label it.
7. **What only you can decide**The calls the file leaves to you.
8. **Your choices**What you chose to keep for your brand, and the training set built from it.

Where it stops

## It hands you the evidence. The verdict stays yours.

Which habits are worth keeping and which are just habits is a decision about you, and it needs a person. The file gives you what that decision should rest on, then lets you make it. Mark each pattern keep, more, less, or drop, and your training set follows your calls.

What it does

- Counts what repeats across your writing and shows the number
- Shows examples from your own writing, each with where it came from
- Shows where your published writing drifts from the rest
- Gives you writing samples to paste into Claude, ChatGPT, or any AI
- Compares runs, so you can see what held and what changed
- Lets you mark what to keep and builds your training set from your choices

What it doesn't do

- Name your voice or sum it up in adjectives
- Grade your writing
- Hand you a list of rules or words to avoid
- Write anything new in your voice

Before you buy

## What you need to run it.

1

### A paid Claude plan (Pro or above)

Reading 30 to 40 pieces closely is a big job, and it doesn't fit inside the free plan's usage limit.

2

### One setting turned on

"Code execution and file creation," in Claude's Settings. It's what lets the skill build your Word document.

3

### 30 to 40 pieces of unpolished writing

One send, one piece. Fewer still runs, and the file tells you plainly how far the counts can go.

4

### About 15 minutes to gather

No technical setup. You upload a zip once and start a chat. The setup guide covers every step.

### If it won't run on your setup, I'll get it working or refund you.

Email [kara@fbdigital.co](mailto:kara@fbdigital.co) and I'll sort it out with you. And if your writing sample is too small to count well, the file says so plainly and tells you what to add next time.

## The strategist behind the skill

Kara ParlinFounder, Firebrand Digital Marketing

For over 25 years I have developed and improved brand messaging for companies from billion-dollar global brands to startups with a product and no story yet. I work from the high-level campaign concept all the way down to the smallest execution detail.

The Fingerprint File does the part of that work that's hardest to do by feel, which is noticing what someone's writing does again and again and proving it with examples from their own writing.

## Got questions?

### Does it only work in Claude?

The skill runs in Claude. The writing samples it gives you work anywhere, like a Claude project, ChatGPT custom instructions, a custom GPT, Gemini, or whatever you write with.

### Why not just write it myself?

For the pieces that matter most, you might. This is for everything you already hand to AI, so it has examples of your own writing to match.

### Would switching to ChatGPT or another model fix it?

Every model falls back on the same safe defaults when it has nothing of yours to go on. The examples this gives you work in any of them, so you can keep the one you like.

### Is this a brand guide?

No. A brand guide tells you what a company should sound like. This reads one person's own writing and shows what it already does, with the evidence. What you keep is up to you, and the file lets you mark it.

### What if my brand shouldn't sound exactly like my emails?

It doesn't have to. The file shows how you write now, then you choose what carries into your brand by marking each pattern keep, more, less, or drop. Your training set is built from those choices, and the evidence stays untouched underneath.

### Why unpolished writing instead of my best work?

Because your best work has been edited the most. The file can still read a few published pieces alongside the rest, and the gap between the two is often the most useful thing in it.

### What happens to other people's names in my emails?

Other people's names, email addresses, and phone numbers are swapped for \[name\], \[email\], and \[phone\] in every example. The skill runs in your own Claude account, so your writing never comes to me.

### What if I only have 20 pieces?

It still runs. The file labels how much weight the counts can carry and tells you what would firm them up next time.

### Can I run it again later?

Yes, as often as you like. Keep the small profile file it gives you, upload it with your new writing next time, and the file shows which patterns held, which are new, and which didn't show up.

### I have the AI-Powered 2027 VIP pass. How do I get mine?

Enter the code from your VIP pass, plus your name and email, in the [VIP form](https://www.fbdigital.co/fingerprint-file#vip). The download arrives by email. No card and no checkout.

### Do I get updates?

Yes. Updates are included, with an email when the skill improves.

### Can I buy Briefing Room on its own?

No. Briefing Room builds your brief from your Fingerprint File and Eavesdropper results, so it only comes with them. Get all three in [The Unmistakably You Kit](https://www.fbdigital.co/unmistakably-you?hsLang=en-us), or add Briefing Room when you check out. Already bought one? Your welcome emails include a way to complete the set.
